Active Performance Studio is a Melbourne-based acting school that instructs actors from beginners to masters and works with students of all ages. Their classes are currently offered in Moorabbin, Brunswick and Ringwood. Their school holiday programs are fun and educational.

Create a short film in one week!

Children aged 7 to 12 are able to join the Holiday Acting Workshop and they will actually create a short film in just one week! The students will become well rounded actors, learning the technique of acting for the camera and gaining valuable experience by filming a scripted short film which they will help develop under the expert guidance of their teacher.

As part of the program, the students will work on their improvisation skills. This includes lots of different games which will help them gain an understanding about what acting involves, and help them gain the confidence to perform in front of the camera and a live audience. They’ll also learn team work, all while having a great time!

Active Performance Studio’s aim is to give students a fun environment in which their star potential will be unleashed.

Past school holiday programs

In the past, the students have enjoyed performing ‘Hairspray Heaven’, have worked with a Neighbours Casting Director and other tremendous Australian stage and TV talent, and have put together many wonderful short films.

Participants leave the school holiday program with a sense of fulfilment and confidence, and of course, the pinnacle of the program is the performance in front of an enthusiastic audience of friends and family.
