Point Break Drama Acting School is an acting/performing arts school in Dee Why on Sydney’s northern beaches. For ten years, the school has served to fill the huge void in acting and singing tuition in the area and provides an acting school of the highest calibre.

The school’s ethos is to provide a supportive, nurturing, inspiring and fun environment for those who would like to learn the art of acting. Students here are challenged to achieve at the highest level. The school holiday acting intensive shows students how to self-appraise each other and themselves in acting class. By learning acting techniques in a positive and constructive environment, students are better empowered to further themselves in the industry, and in life.

Courses are taught by working professional actors with teaching expertise.

Point Break Drama offers regular holiday workshops for children and teens including:

• Drama workshops
• Casting workshops
• Acting technique
• Accent and voice work

School Holiday Acting Intensive

The highly successful School Holiday Acting/Drama Workshop Intensive is run during the April school holidays for kids and teens. Located on the northern beachers, it is designed to challenge participants with new ideas about acting and performance and provide them with a taste of different areas. Participants will move through a series of different classes on each day of the workshop under the tutelage of professional actors.

There are two age groups: Kids (7 to 10) and Teens (11 to 17). Workshops run from 9am to 4pm each day. The course includes:

• Movement/Voice Technique
  Utilising a series of breathing and centring techniques, participants will learn how better to use their voice so they can effectively communicate with their audience.
• Acting/Auditioning for the Camera
  Provides an in-depth look at the film/TV casting process and how to improve the chances of getting a job. Students will prepare and rehearse scenes in front of the camera.
• Drama Sports & Improvisation
  Participants will be taken through a fun and challenging improvisation and drama sports workshop. It covers an array of skills and high energy drama sports games. These are essential skills for those who would like to work in commercials.
• Acting Technique
  An important aspect of this workshop is to expose students to new acting techniques. It’s important that students are continually challenged and shown fresh approaches to acting.
