The Education team at the Phillip Island Nature Park offer a range of educational programs and resources for all ages which are as unique as Phillip Island's learning environment itself.
Ranger talks, walks and hands on activities provide an increased understanding of Phillip Island's diverse natural systems. Penguins, koalas, shearwaters, a striking coastline of sandy beaches and rugged rocky cliff faces, mangroves, wetlands, a touch of history are all part of the stunning Phillip Island Nature Park. The Park spreads over 1805 hectares, almost 20 % of Phillip Island and with its unique combination of wildlife, conservation management, eco-tourism and historical features, provides an ideal location for environmental studies.
Our structured education programs are linked with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards. All activities are presented by rangers who posses an intimate knowledge that comes from working in the Nature Park each day and season. Our rangers are also nationally accredited eco-guides with level 2 first aid qualifications ensuring our programs are well run, educational, participatory and definitely fun filled!
Phillip Island is an easy two-hour drive from Melbourne making it a convenient day trip. Alternately, overnight stays help to take full advantage of all the Island has to offer. There are several established school camps, as well as caravan parks and motels on the island.
