Imagine Music Theatre 

Four weeks of workshops at Orana School,
Weston tutored by Wayfarers Australia performers and their director, Judith Clingan AM

 

WEEK 1: January 2nd (holiday Monday) – 6th:  

STORY SONGS for ages 5 – 14 

Juniors (5 – 9) will dramatise and add singing, percussion etc to The Owl and the Pussy Cat (Lear), Custard the Dragon (Ogden Nash) and The Old Gumbie Cat (T. S. Eliot): 

9.00am – 3.00pm daily, childcare available 3.00 – 4.00pm 

Seniors (10 – 14) will dramatise and add music to The Jumblies (Lear), Jabberwocky (Carroll) and Grace O’Malley, the Pirate Queen (Clingan):  

9.00am – 4.00pm daily. 

Both groups’ performances Friday 6th January 6.00pm 

WEEK 2: January 9th – 13th:  

THE DANCING WOMBAT for juniors (aged 5 – 9) 

Songs and orchestral music about Australian bush creatures. Children will sing, mime, dance, play percussion or any instrument they are currently learning, and make props and costumes.  

9.00am – 3.00pm, daily, childcare available 3.00 – 4.00pm 

Performance Friday 13th January 6.00pm 

WEEK 3: January 16th – 20th:  

THE EARTH STORY for juniors (aged 5 – 9) 

A creation fable. Children will sing, mime, dance, play percussion or any other instrument they are currently learning, and make props and costumes. 

9.00am – 3.00pm, daily, childcare available 3.00 – 4.00pm 

Performance Friday 20th January 6.00pm 

TWO WEEK SENIOR WORKSHOP:  

January 9th – 21st for ages 10 – 16: 

The Ring Bearer Based on Tolkien’s The Lord Of The Rings Two weeks of drama, music, set and props design and construction, staging and lighting design. 

9.00am – 4.00pm daily. 

Performance Saturday 21st January 6.00pm 

WEEK 4: January 23rd – 27th:  

KAKADU for ages 8 – 16: 

Singing, percussion and other instrumental work, mime and dance: Judith Clingan’s award-winning music theatre work telling of life in Kakadu before the coming of white settlers. Participants will assist with choreography and design of props and lighting. 

9.00am – 4.00pm daily. 

Performance Friday 27th 6.00pm. 

FEES: 

Juniors week 1, week 2 and week 3: $280 first child, $260 second child, $200 third child 

Child care 3.00pm – 4.00pm $10 per day 

Seniors week 1, and all participants week 4: $290 first child, $270 second child, $200 third child 

Seniors two week workshop: $490 first child, $470 second child, $400 third child.
